Pierwszy raz miałam okazję obejrzeć na żywo rzeźby Henry Moore’a w Getty Museum w Los Angeles. Urzekła mnie szczególnie jedna, postać matki z dzieckiem i kiedy kilka miesięcy później w Balboa Park w San Diego zobaczyłam kolejną obłą w kształcie rzeźbę, byłam już pewna, że to także postać matki z dzieckiem autorstwa Moore’a. Bardzo charakterystyczne kształty i bardzo często powtarzany obraz kobiety są zdecydowanie najbardziej rozpoznawalnymi znakami tego brytyjskiego artysty. Sam artysta powiedział, iż w każdej jego rzeźbie możemy odnaleźć postać nagiej kobiety.

I had an opportunity to see art of Henry Moore for the first time in Getty Museum in Los Angeles. I was so impressed, especially by one of his sculptures – mother with a child. When I was in Balboa Park in San Diego a couple months later I saw a sculpture having a very similar shape – I was sure that was Henry Moore and again with a theme of mother with a child. Very characteristic and unique shape and often used theme of a woman with a child, they are by far the most recognisable signs of this British artist. The artist said you could always find the shape of naked woman in his sculpture.

“Nieomal wszystkie moje rzeźby – bez względu na rozmiary – wykonałem na wolnym powietrzu. Dlatego mieszkam na wsi…” – powiedział Moore, podkreślając, iż lubił oglądać rzeźby pod gołym niebem i w odniesieniu do otaczających je drzew.

Po tych słowach wiem, jak bardzo muzea w których możemy oglądać prace Moore’a dbają o ich stały kontakt z przyrodą. W takiej scenerii nabierają one innego wymiaru i są pięknym łącznikiem pomiędzy naturą, a sztuką. Natura wzbogaca sztukę, a sztuka wzbogaca naturę. Jak dla mnie połączenie idealne.

“I have made most of my sculptures – regardless of scale – outside, in the open air. That is why I live in the countryside…” – he said highlighting that he loved to watch his sculptures under the sky or in proportion to the trees.

Having read these words I know how important for museums, where we can find work of Henry Moore, is to show his sculptures close to nature. In such a scenery they get a different dimension and they create beautiful link between nature and art. Nature enriches art and art enriches nature. For me that is the best combination.

Dzisiaj, ku mojej wielkiej radości zapraszam i polecam gorąco wycieczkę do Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej w Orońsku, gdzie znajdziecie wspaniałą wystawę rzeźb Henry Moore’a. Jest to nie lada gratka dla wszystkich miłośników sztuki, ale także dla przyrodników, gdyż Centrum Rzeźby to ponad 12 hektarów lasów po których możemy spacerować otoczeni zarówno pięknem drzew jak i instalacji tworzących harmonijną całość.

Today, with a great pleasure I want to invite you to the trip to the Center of Sculpture in Oronsko in Poland. You can find spectacular exhibition of Henry Moore’s sculptures there. That is absolutely amazing to have that honor and opportunity to see so many works of this artist. That is a real treat for all lovers of art, but also for nature lovers, because the Center of Sculpture is located in the park with more than 12 hectares of forest where we can stroll surrounded by both the beauty of trees and art creating a harmonious integrity.
